ABOUT THE CLASS

Do you have some woodworking experience but want to learn more and practice your skills?

Now is your chance to explore the wonderful world of wood craft and build a project. In this supervised workshop we will continue to learn new hand tools, new power tools ( bandsaw, routers, jigs) and many tips and tricks to allow you to expand your woodworking skills. The course will teach you more advanced joinery ( box joints, blind dovetail, splines and more) enabling you to independently develop and build projects during class time. You will be able to continue making projects after the class with the skills you will aquire, helping make your own ideas and wishes come true. You can learn to build everything from cutting boards, wine racks drink and coasters to furniture.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

This class is intended for those who have previous experience and safety knowledge of the chop saw and table saw. If you have attended previous workshops with us, you may be eligible to attend.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

The starting point in all our courses is folk education pedagogy. In short, it is based on a dialogue between leaders and participants.

The first day will consist of a basic lecture on safety, tools and procedures. Each day after, you will continue to learn new wood craft techniques that will apply to your individual projects. We meet 6 times and the teaching is held over six consecutive saturdays.

The teaching is adapted to your and the other participants' needs, interests and general background so that the course provides as much benefit as possible. The teaching mainly consists of your own work under the supervision of the course leader. The group consists of a maximum of only 6 participants.

MATERIALS

The class will emphasize material re-use and you will have access to many saved building materials. There will be more materials available for purchase during the course, for example special hardware or new materials. While supplies last. You may bring in your own materials as well.

ACCESSIBILITY

The course room is wheelchair accessible. There is a disabled toilet. Portable ear loop are available.  Consider our allergy sufferers - avoid strong scents. Our ambition is for as many people as possible to be able to participate in our courses and use our material.
